WHAT IS THE MEANING OF HALLOWEEN?
Halloween is another religious and pleasurable way of celebrating images, witches and spiritual sacrifices for an event.
“Halloween is a popular American holiday for children and adults. It is celebrated on October 31st every year. Children dress up in costumes and go after dark house to house, knock on the door and say trick or treat! People then give the children “treats” like candy. Costumes can be scary. You will see many witches, monsters, ghosts and vampires but you might also see lots of children dressed up as fairies or princesses. It is also a time that people have Halloween parties where you can play fun games like bobbing for apples, go through a haunted house, or have a costume party. You will also see lots of jack o’lanterns on Halloween.” according to ocland USA.
Halloween is usually celebrated by People in Orthodox churches or background. They have taken it to be fun, candy merry and any other holiday altogether. READ MORE:
An ex-witch came to our church and she also said that Christians should never celebrate Halloween. She explained the whole holiday and said it’s the highest Holy day for witches. I always focused more on the “fun” part of it until I heard her speak. Then I felt a conviction about celebrating it. I think Christians should just pray and do what they believe God is leading them to do. Thanks Michael!

As a woman whose ancestors include Irish and Scottish people, I feel you have your facts wrong about Halloween. It has nothing to do with Satanism. The original Celtic tradition that Halloween is based on had to do with the belief that as winter nears, the veil between the living and the dead becomes thin. I won’t get into the rest because I fear I may be misinterpreted, but it’s worth pointing out that the reason November 1 is All Saints’ Day is because the Catholic Church was trying to attract pagan people to the Church. Halloween means All Hallows’ Eve and it was named that by the Catholic Church. So Halloween has nothing to do with Satanism. I urge you to do some research and correct your blog postm

I’m a Christian and I’ve celebrated Halloween my entire life! I plan to continue doing so. People have a way of turning things into their own and that is exactly what I do. Turning bad into something fun and beautiful. I dont see anything wrong with that. Even churches have fall Festivals and children come in costume and have a good time. There are plenty of things Christian’s should not participate in and yet they do those things everyday. Mostly judging people……..

I like this post and the points you make.
However we can choose to look at this celebration as something negative from the past or in the pressent, or we can make it beautiful and in to a celebration of what has been given by God.
It can be a way of bringing joy in to the world, seeing our children happy, it may be selfish, but it may also be good. What is our mindsett or focus on this dark night? Do we see only darkness. Are we thankful for what we have been given or are we left unsatesfied and wanting more? Can we be happy that God has given us a day where our children are free to spend time with their parents and other kids. Given time to run from house to house and receive gifts from complete strangers and neighbours, and allowing them to experience the pleasure of being given gifts. What if we took this beautiful act of kindness and joy and started to share with those we do not know, those in need of food or shelter.
What if this kindness and will to share could be applied on a daily basis, whenever, wherever to whom ever in need? Taking it a few steps further, it may truly be a beautiful celebration that can make a statement to our regular lives. God works in mysterious ways and in mysterious dark nights.
This post shows and brings forth critical thinking, thank you ❤

I was never a fan of Halloween. In the city people take this as an opportunity to wear mask, rob people and throw eggs.

The essence of Christianity is bringing light to darkness. Not only do I think we should celebrate it, I think we need to give the best treats and enjoy the day to the fullest.
Granted if I had a past where it brought up temptations to turn from God, it would be a different thing. But in my life it has been a positive and we’ve done Halloween since we were children. I’m a Christian and don’t see darkness in my life as a result….only light.
Everyone should do as they feel led by God.

This is a tough one. Yes, Halloween has dark roots. It was said that Satan went from door-to-door, collecting souls in a bag on that day. It morphed into children doing the same thing for candy.
I say we ignore dark past, and focus on the fun and camaraderie in it. I love how it brings out the child in adults, too. We get to be young again and snack on delicious candy.
